Welcome to the GoTo Toastmasters Club!
Our club was started in 2006 by a group of Citrix Online employees in Santa Barbara, California. After multiple corporate acquisitions, we are now comprised of GoTo Technologies employees and non-employees from all over the country! You do not need to be a GoTo employee to attend or join. We are a FULLY REMOTE club, meeting virtually through GoTo Meeting.

Toastmasters International Mission Statement
"We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth."

Our club meetings include learning together and supporting each other as we:

• build confidence with public speaking
• improve our presentation and leadership skills
• increase English fluency for non-native speakers
• network and build social connections

Each of our meetings is structured to include:

• a volunteer host (called the "toastmaster" of the meeting)
• at least one member speech (5-7 minutes)
• a mini (2-3 minutes) impromptu response speech exercise for all attendees
• giving positive evaluation for speech
• a member who reports time usage of speeches
• a member who reports occurrences of "filler words"
• a fun, active listening quiz on topics presented
• club announcements

Because we are a fully remote club that meets virtually, we ask that all attendees prepare to have their cameras on during the meeting. No one wants to talk to a blank screen- or maybe you do, haha, but then you would miss out on practicing your skills!
